Owner, Amani Counseling
Welcome, I’m glad you are considering counseling with me!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Addiction Counselor and Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of South Carolina. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri and my graduate degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota.
I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2010 and have worked in a variety of settings including group home, in home, school, community outpatient facilities and private practice. My background and experience has allowed me to work with a variety of clients and better serve you.
My approach to therapy is person-centered and I believe that you will make the most progress with a supportive, non-judgmental therapist that you can trust. I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement therapy and mindfulness into my practice. I work best with adults who are struggling with fulfillment and transitions. My areas of focus are depression, anxiety, women’s issues including, trauma, healthy relationships and self esteem and drug and alcohol related problems.
What does Amani mean? Amani translates to peace in Kiswahili. I believe that counseling is a tool you can use towards finding your inner peace and living a life with purpose, direction and fulfillment.
I look forward to meeting you!
